Dear Spinciti Backers, 

We are happy to announce that the first batch of 100+ bikes was finally shipped to our backers last week. 

Thanks for all the positive feedback, those kind words fill us with joy!  Remember that our advice is that when assembled the first time, it is essential to have a detailed revision by a professional bike shop.
We believe that this should be done with every bike electric or regular; that way, you will safely enjoy your Spinciti Amsterdam at its fullest. 

Thanks for your patience in this process, it has also been very hard for us.  Due to COVID 19 freight, customs, overall paperwork, and shipping has been a true nightmare, not only because of the delays but also with regards to the mishandling of some bikes.
 We will do our best to solve all the problems in the shortest timeframe possible (regrettably, in these times, that is not as quick as we all would like). 

Finally, sending this first bikes has provided us with some critical learnings about packaging. We will make sure that the next batches will come with more protection and better overall packaging.

Dear Spinciti Backers:

After sending the Update#13 a few hours ago, we realized that we have been receiving an ongoing concern that we wish to address it via an addendum to the previous update. 

Some backers have been rightfully complaining for a lack of diligence in responding to backers' communications. 

The truth is that every day we read your concerns, via comments in the wall, direct emails, or emails to [email protected].  We do have an urgency to respond, but as a rule, we don’t respond when we don’t have fresh news to share about product, company, logistics, delivery or the app. Our supply chain has been negatively impacted by COVID19, with every city  where our team operates in China, and others is still in lockdown. As mentioned in Update #13, the time to process documentation and move product  in customs, for our product category has been delayed immensely. The initial times that were given to us by our brokers and agents resulted in 3X, with that the costs of temporary storage.  For that reason, we will be updating and responding when we have meaningful information, such as tracking numbers on this occasion.

Dear Spinciti Backers:

First of all, thanks for your patience in these difficult times, we are well aware of the everyday challenges everyone is facing. Fortunately, this is an update filled with good news to our backers. 

With regards to the Spinciti team worldwide, everyone remains safe and no one has been infected so far, we are taking all precautions to remain that way.

On our last update, we mentioned that we were going to ship the first 100 e-bikes to our backers in the U.S. in April. Although we worked hard to get all the bikes ready immediately, we soon found out that customs in both countries were operating at a speed very different to before COVID. It took us weeks to get things going, as customs and freight companies are determining what products are regarded as “essential”. 

We are happy to announce that we have in our hands almost all of the tracking numbers for the first batch of 100 e-bikes and that we have forwarded them via email to the corresponding  backers. For those receiving an email, you can check your tracking numbers on the “Contribution Details” page after valid confirmation.  As units are shipped, it will take around five days for the couriers to deliver according to their schedule so your specific date will depend on the shipping company routes, your location, and other factors.

We are well aware that many backers have grown impatient, we want to stress the fact that we have been working around the clock to be able to deliver these bikes in April as promised. 

Production Update.

As mentioned in our last update, our full focus is. in delivering the rest of the e-bikes in August. As the supply chain slowly wakes up ( we have dozens of suppliers in China and Taiwan, and some of them took very long to restart, none of our suppliers is working at 100% capacity and a couple are still working at 50%, so the lead times have stacked up), we are confident that we will be able to deliver in the promised timeframe. 

App Update

We are happy to inform that the App development is moving at a nice speed and we are now working in the debugging stage, on our next update we will share some screenshots of the functionalities.  By the time the second batch of bikes is shipped, the App will be fully functional. 

Since the beginning, we have optimized for quality and performance, so we are certain that when you receive your Spinciti you will be glad of your choice.

Ps. We have received some questions regarding Mexico’s Cuadro offering Spinciti bikes on their website. Cuadro is an early Indiegogo backer that purchased a big batch of bikes through the Indiegogo platform. Importing to Mexico resulted easier than importing to other countries for two main reasons: a. Import tariffs have not changed significantly in Mexico as compared to other countries such as the US and b. Part of our full-time team is in Mexico, for those reasons we have delivered 100% of the Mexican orders.

Dear Spinciti Backer,

First of all, thank you all for all the messages of support, we are truly living in unique times. The coronavirus is affecting everyone, from our families to our businesses.

As the circumstance continues to affect our world, we wanted to reach out and update you on how we're supporting our employees, our community, and you.

We know that customers expect their Spinciti bikes and accessories soon, and we are committed to keeping them running smoothly.

Our main objective with this update is to inform all of our backers that we are fully funded and that production is not compromised and is currently moving forward, having said so, our biggest issue right now is to correctly coordinate all the key players within the supply chain given the current global situation around COVID-19.  

SUPPORTING OUR EMPLOYEES 

We've taken actions to reduce the need for people to come into our offices across the globe, based on local conditions.

Additionally, Spinciti has actively encouraged and offered to provide cleaning supplies, and other safety equipment to all our staff to prepare them as best as possible from being exposed.

DELIVERY UPDATE: SHIPPING BATCH :) !!!

We are making our best effort in providing the fastest delivery solution.

We have started to ship some e-bikes and in the next 30 days, we will be delivering 100 more additional bikes. You don't need to do anything - we will send you a shipping notification email once your perk ships. 

Additional right now we are ready to deliver 500W bikes low frame color teal and dusty pink, if you want to change you can contact [email protected], limited to 30 units /color.  

Since several cargo airlines and flights have been canceled and reduced, the shipper is moving slower than expected.

Additionally, the availability to deliver goods is limited in some areas: Seattle, New York City, the San Francisco Bay Area, Orlando, Chicago, Miami, and Boston, we expect the number of areas where delivery is limited to be increased in the following days, anyway we will continue to communicate any and all updates to you.

BACKERKIT DEADLINE 

The faster we have the survey submissions with your choices of perks and mailing addresses, the quicker we can prepare the shipment.

We kindly ask you to please complete your survey at your earliest convenience. 

PRODUCTION UPDATES 

As you can imagine, the supply chain has been affected very seriously by the latest events. Just at our assembly facility, around 50% of the workforce has been affected in different manners. Other key suppliers have announced to us a delay in delivery of over 8 weeks, in particular the manufacturers of gear changes and brakes. For this reason, today, our best forecast is that we will be able to deliver the rest of the production in mid-August. 

FINALLY 

Above all, our thoughts are with those affected by the virus, particularly those who are sick. 

We wish them a speedy recovery.
