Dear backer community,
We hope this email finds everyone well and healthy! We have prepared this update to share the status of the Spinciti project.
Some good news to share: Last week we finalized the deliveries of bike accessories in the United States and Canada! With this we have finalized the delivery of more than 85% of the perks promised in our Indiegogo campaign!!
Unfortunately, we have not been able to finalize the delivery of the bikes intended for our backers in Europe and the rest of the world. For you: our most sincere apologies! We would like to acknowledge that this whole adventure has meant a once in a life-time experience for everyone at Spinciti. When we launched Spinciti, we wanted to bring a good quality and affordable e-bike to everyone in the world; as such, we offered to ship e-bikes to every corner in the world. We must admit that we underestimated the legal requirements and the cost to do so. For our backers outside USA, Canada and Europe, we are still working on finding the best possible course of action, please rest assured that we will either deliver your bicycle or refund the full amount of your contribution, we expect to have more clarity about this soon.
For our backers in Europe, we acknowledge that we have communicated different courses of action during the last few months. The truth is that we were acting in a reactive way, responding every time to the ever-changing circumstances. When we initiated deliveries in May 2021, we shipped several e-bikes to Europe and faced no issues with customs; however, when we shipped a full container, it was halted by customs upon arrival and it took us 3 months to finish the clearance process, unfortunately only our 250W models could be imported and the rest of the bikes were re-exported to the USA (with the respective added costs and more than 4 months of total delays). Now that the import process is clear and no more setbacks are expected, we are in the process to ship a new container from Taiwan to Europe; the bikes in this container were put on hold in Taiwan until we were clear about the clearance processes.
Bringing this project to life has represented a lifetime challenge for everyone at Spinciti; we would like to offer a sincere apology to our backer community for all the uncomfortable moments, also we would like to specially thank those of you who have continued to support us through this process! We know that some backers are upset at us, we would like to tell you that we understand your feeling; however, we still hope to count with your understanding and support; you were part of a crowdfunding campaign and the spirit of crowdfunding is to collectively help entrepreneurs to bring ideas to life, unfortunately there are risks involved in the process and timelines can deviate, all of this without considering the impact of Covid-19. People who support a crowdfunding campaign become backers and they receive perks as a reward for their contribution, as such participating in a crowdfunding campaign is not a regular seller-customer transaction.

Dear Spinciti backer community!
Today the container that left Taiwan couple of weeks ago arrived to the warehouse in San Diego!! I came over to supervise the unloading of the bikes!! We were planning to send the shipping labels in advance but had some shortcomings creating them; however between today and next week Thursday, the labels will be created and shared with the backers; likewise the bikes will be dispatched to FedEx for delivery!
Last few weeks have been very intense and we are trying to keep up answering all your emails, 2 new team members have joined the team to be able to better respond to your enquiries and also be more efficient with our internal logistic processes!!
Meanwhile I can also tell you that the next container for USA will be loaded early next week. We are still confirming the exact loading date for the European container and hope to have an exact date in the upcoming days.

Dear Spinciti backer community,
First of all, we hope that this message finds everybody sound and safe! We want to offer you all a sincere apology for the delays we have faced and the time we went silent, we know we have made several mistakes in our communication but at the same time, we did not want to continue communicating delivery dates without being 100% certain. This year has truly posed major challenges to our communities and society in general; specifically from a business and start-up perspective, the biggest challenge has been perhaps to guarantee our long-term viability while adapting to a new way of working and producing and delivering stuff.
We are really fortunate to be part of an ecosystem which amid the crisis is thriving like never before, I am of course talking about the personal sustainable mobility sector. At the same time, we have faced unprecedented challenges as the world literally ran out of bikes; long term established companies as well as start-ups, we have all struggled with the same. Every company in the bike world depends on component suppliers, and everybody started pushing them to get components delivered at a record pace; to worsen things, component factories have been working at half or less of its installed capacity.
For that reason we have missed deadline after deadline. In order to better adapt to the new circumstances, 3 very experienced professionals in the bike industry joined the team to reinforce our operations. We are starting to witness the results, we are really happy to share with you all that this week 176 bikes have left Taiwan and are already heading to the United States.
Another situation we have faced is the poor handling of the bicycle boxes by the forwarding companies, to date we have delivered 140 bicycles and a high percentage of them suffered some level of damage during transportation. For that reason, we went back to the drawing board and have redesigned our packaging in record time to prevent that from happening again.
We have established contact with all of you who have been sending us emails, we read and follow up on every single communication, our apologies if it takes some time, we are literally doing 16 hours shifts to deliver all the Spinciti bikes. We want to share with you that the next 2 containers will be loaded in the last week of August and will leave Taiwan in the first week of September. I know that you have little reason to trust these dates; however we are confident this time we will deliver as promised, every single component has been confirmed and is finally moving according to the plan.
I know that these last few weeks have been very frustrating for you all, we are really sorry for that! It is our true desire that when you receive your bicycle, you are really excited to ride it and experience the same excitement as the day you ordered it. For that reason, we, at Spinciti, are working with all our passion and commitment to get this project delivered, and we want that you feel proud of belonging to this community same as we feel proud of serving you all.

Spinciti App Release
Dear Spinciti Backers,
First of all, we want to thank everyone for your patience and support, we are near the finish line and will be sending the bikes shortly.
As you can imagine, like all other businesses in the COVID era, we've had raw material delays, workforce slowdowns, and travel restrictions.
We also made an early decision only to accept the highest quality and will not compromise on anything less.
We want to double down in our commitment to deliver all the bikes in August.
A better way to keep track of your rides?
We are happy to announce that V 1.0 of the Spinciti App has been approved and is now available in Apple Store and Google store.
The Spinciti App is an excellent tool for keeping your rides organized without getting in your way.
It provides you with a whole new way to stay on top of your rides: know how many calories you burn, the equivalent in steps, or how much you reduce your CO2 footprint!
With this state-of-the-art technology we developed, Amsterdam bikes will connect to your phone via Bluetooth and feed accurate exercise data back into apps like Strava, My Fitness Pal, Apple Health, and others.
Remember that Spinciti e-bikes are your best match for fitness.
Interestingly, studies have shown that riding on an e-bike offers about the same fitness benefits that regular bikes do! So don't stop moving!

Hello Spinciti backers,
We really hope you and your families are all staying safe, so far our team and their families have all stayed COVID free.
We know it has been a long time since our last update, but we want to share only meaningful information:

As some of you may already know, we delivered the first batch of 100 bikes more than a month ago. We experienced some difficulties with the logistic vendors as some of the bikes arrived with significant damage, we have been working in making sure we solve all the open issues with our backers so they can start enjoying their bikes as soon as possible (most of them already are).
The described situation left us with two crucial learnings: First, we have put in place better and more stringent processes with our logistics partners, to make sure that bikes are not damaged in transport, and if they do get damaged, that the carriers respond in a more diligent manner. Second, we have significantly improved the packaging so that the bikes are better protected. We are certain that we will have less problems with the delivery of the next batches.

The manufacturing and shipping schedule of the next batch is on time, as mentioned in the last update. We will be delivering all of the bikes no later than August.
Together with our manufacturing partners, we have worked out a timeline that puts us on track for shipping out of the factory (in Asia) next month.
This is what the adjusted timeline looks like:
June: Pre-assembly and Assembly phase.
July: Finalization of all the production.
July 1st week: 1st container ships.
July 2nd week: 2nd container ships.
July 3rd week: 3rd container ships.
August: Delivery of all bikes.
We are working tirelessly to get every detail right and make Spinciti the best commuter E-bike in the world.
We will be notifying you as soon as we are ready for shipment, so keep an eye on your inbox for shipping details.

Some of our backers received the bike without the Users Manual. We are attaching the Users Manual to this update. In the next few weeks, we will have some installation videos ready to be uploaded.
